NEWSLETTER – SEPTEMBER 13, 2008

This is going to be a different type newsletter, as I am including the business meeting that was held on August 30th after the Field Day hosted by Trans Ova.

The Field Day was fantastic with interesting speakers and the tours of Trans Ova.

We certainly owe them a big thanks for all of the hard work they put in to make the day enjoyable for all who attended. Stephanie Smith and Barb Twyman worked like crazy to make it a very special day. We also want to thank those who attended from Iowa and Illinois.

BUSINESS MEETING

Rick Coffman called the meeting to order. A treasurer’s report was given.
I am going to list the new business under separate headings

FARM FEST/MISSOURI LIVESTOCK SYMPOSUIM

FARM FEST will be October 3rd, 4th, and 5th. It will be held at the Ozark Empire Fair grounds, in Springfield, Mo. The Missouri Livestock Symposium will be held December 5th & 6th, in Kirksville, Mo. Sandy Coffman is making a video, with music to run when we set up our booth. She needs pictures from members of cattle. Any kind of pictures from pasture, feedlot and shows can be sent to her. It may not be ready for Farm Fest, but she will have it ready for the Symposium.
ALL MEMBERS NEED TO PARTICIPATE.

SPRING SALE

The spring sale will be April 18, 2009. at the Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, LLC, in Springfield, Missouri. Consignment letters will be going out the last week of December. THE DEADLINE WILL BE FEBRUARY 23, 2009, IN ORDER TO MAKE THE PRINTING DATE!!! All consignments that are received after this deadline will not be in the catalogue.

WEB SITE

Since I was not at the meeting I would like to have my say concerning the Web Site. I update it with meetings, shows, special events and the newsletter. We have a link to the Red Angus Association. POOR PENMANSHIP IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MOST OF THE MISTAKES MADE! Also, all you have to do is check the web site and if your information is wrong, I am just a phone call away.

MEETING

THERE WILL BE A MEETING FOLLOWING THE SYMPOSIUM ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 6, 2008. All members need to attend. The fall sale committee chaired by Barb Twyman will be giving a report and the bull development committee will be giving a report. The nominating committee would like for anyone interested in the positions for the NE, NW, President and Vice-President to give Rick Coffman 641/919/4077, or Tammy Floyd 660/244/5792 a call.
